Louie G’s Youth Open Jam

Have a young musician in your family who wants to strut their stuff? Here’s the perfect opportunity! Louie G’s Pizza is hosting their Youth Open Jam, where young bands, musicians, and singers can share their craft with the world!

All proceeds from this event will be donated to programs dedicated to keeping music programs in schools! The venue will provide a drum set and amps, but ask that you bring your own instruments. (They will have a few extras on hand just in case, though.)

All performers must be 20 or younger to sign up. The amount of songs you will be able to play will depend on the turnout at the event. Mostly likely you will have time to perform 1 – 3 songs at the host’s discretion.

All styles of music are welcome at this event, though Rock and Blue’s will likely be the most common. Please keep in mind that this is a family friendly event when choosing your songs!

New Tehaleh Event: Walk & Talk!

Is your goal for the new year to work on getting into better shape? Well this new monthly event may just help you on your way! In collaboration with Bonney Lake Fleet Feet, friends and neighbors of Tehaleh are invited to join in on Walk & Talk!

The first meet up be Tuesday, January 17th

This will be a leisurely walk through the gorgeous trails of Tehaleh. The starting goal is an approximately 2.5 mile walk. The goal is to work up to farther distances as the group grows stronger together. So grab those walking shoes and get ready to hit the trails!

Tacoma Wedding Expo Returns!

Once again the Wedding Expo has returned to Tacoma! This exciting event is great fun for anyone planning a wedding, and for those with friends and loved ones planning a wedding. The event is taking place at the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall.

Countless vendors will be present showcasing their goods and services. Photographers, caterers, tailors and more! There are hundreds of dresses to try on, and the first 100 brides to attend receive a free 14”-22” custom print on frameless glass. Fabulous daily drawings!

Concessions will also be available for purchase, and pictures are allowed on non-professional cameras! Get ready for a day of fun and snag some amazing deals!

Tickets will also be available for purchase at the Exhibition Hall box office windows beginning at 8:45am Saturday and at 9:45am on Sunday. Kids age 16 and under are free.

Come on down for the celebration! Once again the city of Tacoma is hosting the fabulous party known as First Night! Enjoy artists, entertainers, and live music! So much to do and see at this amazing non-alcoholic event!


If you haven’t yet gone to check out Point Defiance Zoo’s Zoolights, New Years Eve is the perfect time to go! Enjoy the beautiful light displays and enjoy cocoa and yummy winter treats.

Wild Waves

Federal Way’s fantastic theme park Wild Waves and Enchanted Village is open to greet the new year! Head on down to see a display of beautiful lights and ride the many attractions! Tickets are available online and at the gate.

Want to kick off the new year on a healthier foot? Join Saltwater State Park in the First Day Hike! Walk the trails and discover plant and wildlife! Or walk the beach and take in the natural beauty! Make sure to bundle up!

“Hike a mile through history at Saltwater State Park: Explore the legacy and influence of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) –
a service program started in 1933 during the Great Depression to conserve natural resources and provide employment for young out-of-work men.
The CCC built much of the park. Traverse down to the beach area for a more in-depth glimpse into the CCC’s history.
And learn the role Saltwater State Park played in forging a friendship between the rival cities of Seattle and Tacoma. 
Open House Tour of the CCC Cabin will be from 10 – noon.”

Skate Through A Winter Wonderland!

Pierce County’s own Ice Skating rink at the Sprinker Recreational Center invites you to come ice skate through a winter wonderland!

Starting December 16th, Sprinker Ice Arena begins their Holiday Ice Skating Schedule. Even better, tomorrow they’re kicking off the new schedule with a “Cheap Skate” reduced price period from 9:30am – 1:15pm! Sprinker welcomes skaters of ALL skill levels, so don’t be shy! Bring the family!

For the holiday season, Sprinker has turned the arena into a winter wonderland complete with a Christmas tree, and fresh falling snow! Beautiful lights and a DJ make this a truly magical experience!

Point Defiance Zoolights 2016

It’s that time of year once again! The Point Defiance Zoo is hosting their magical Zoolights 2016!

This year’s fantastic displays include sea creatures such as sea turtles and hammerhead sharks, carnivorous plants eating unsuspecting insects, a beautiful polar bear family, a massive pacific octopus, and a huge 30ft wide underwater landscape!

There’s lots more to do as well! Enjoy hot cocoa and other tasty treats, ride the whimsical carousel, take your photo with a reindeer, and ride a camel! You can also do some last minute holiday shopping for the animal lovers in your life at the zoo gift shop!

Tehaleh Holiday Light Competion UPDATE


There has been an update to the 4th Annual Tehaleh Holiday Light Competion!

The hosts of the competition would like to allow more time for more homes to be able to join! Because of this, the deadline for entering the competition is being extended!

You can now enter your home in the competition until Sunday, December 11th!

Voting will now extend through December 18th, & the winners will be announced the 19th!
